A Trip to the Movies

This afternoon I picked Emma and her friend E up from school to take them to the movies - The Princess & The Frog. They were so excited! Emma was ecstatic that E was going to ride in our car and use our extra carseat. They talked and giggled and laughed the whole way to the theater. What made me laugh was that they were talking about movies and music! They sounded like teenagers. Do you like this song? Do you like this movie? What is your favorite Mamma Mia song? (Emma was beyond excited when E told us that she likes Mamma Mia music and the movie as it is one of Emma's favorite movies!). They held their own tickets and eagerly handed them to the ticket lady. And when I asked if they wanted their own popcorns they said NO! They wanted to share :o). During the movie, they would lean over to give each other hugs or ask the other one a question. It was neat to see them interact with each other. We had a great time. The movie was fantastic and the girls were great. This was the first time that we had a playdate with another friend when the friends mom or dad wasn't present. And this was the first time that E had gone anywhere with a friend on her own.
