Out with the old....in with the new! Goodbye 2009, Hello 2010!
We rang in the New Year with Emma falling asleep on the couch around 9:45 p.m., me dozing off shortly after midnight, and Bill staying awake until who knows when. We watched Dick Clark's countdown (so they HAVE to show him and his wife kissing every year at midnight - ew?!) and were not impressed with Jennifer Lopez's performance (what in the sam hill was she wearing?!). A nice relaxing evening.
Although 2009 wasn't a bad year, I am eager to put it behind us and see what 2010 has in store for our family. I am hoping for a healthier year for all of us and looking forward to spending more time together as a family (we have already started talking about camping trips, fishing, going to the pond, heading back to Story Land, etc).
2010 will mean Emma turning 4 years old, her first ballet recital in June, summer camp, horseback riding lessons, and so many more new and exciting things. It will mean mommy turning 32 (yikes!) and daddy hitting 31! 2010 will bring our 7 year wedding anniversary in July. But most important, it will be another year that we get to spend together as a family, something that for so long, we weren't sure was going to happen for us.
If Emma understood what it meant to make resolutions I would like to think that she would make a resolutions to:
**not wear her bossy pants or sassy pants so much
**start sleeping in her own bed (ok...maybe that should be mommy's resolution - to kick Emma out of mommy and daddy's bed since it is my fault as much as hers ;o) )
**stop fighting mommy and daddy about brushing her teeth each day
