We spent yesterday morning back at the pediatrician's office and were not shocked or amazed when Dr. C told us that both of Emma's ears were badly infected and full of pus. Nor were we surprised when she told us that her atrocious cough was due to crap in her lungs. We walked out of the office armed with a prescription for a heavy duty antibiotic and high hopes that Emma would be feeling better very soon! Luckily Dr. C thought that *maybe* Emma still had some bacteria left in her system from when she was sick right before xmas, so instead of putting her on the same antibiotic she was on at that time, she prescribed a different one. I am so grateful for a pediatrician's office that is open on a Sunday morning and for a pediatrician that picks up on those things.
Emma slept most of the day yesterday (thank god) but had a rough night due to the coughing. However she woke up this morning ready to go. She ate cereal for breakfast, played with her Leapster, and is now playing with her dollhouse. Here fever is pretty much gone and she hasn't had any Tylenol since early last night. Wahoo! Hopefully this cough will get under control next.
