Turkeys and Toddlers

On the way to Kevin and Lori's (daycare) there is a huge golf course and in the fall when you drive by in the morning, the course is covered with wild turkeys. We usually drive by really slow so that Emma can see the turkeys and she will talk to them and wave good morning. Once it got cold out all the turkeys went away. Here is the conversation she and I had this morning about the wild turkeys.

E: The turkeys are all gone.

Me: Where did they go?

E: They sleeping. Too cold. Sleeping in the trees.

Me: They do sleep in the trees. What do you think they wear to bed?

E: Ummmm.... (with her finger on her mouth)....pull-ups not underwear!

Me: Turkeys wear pull-ups to bed? Do they wear jammies?

E: No. You wear jammies. Me wear jammies. Daddy wear jammies.

Me: Oh. What do turkeys eat for breakfast?

E: Popcorn!

Me: What do they eat for lunch?

E: Popcorn!

Me: And dinner?

E: I don't know! Popcorn!

Me: Turkeys are silly!

E: Yeah, they silly. They really silly.
