Does it mean that we often run late for things? Yes (which I am still trying so hard to get used to). Does it mean that a normal 30 second task might now take 30 minutes? Yes. Does it mean that we sometimes need to leave 30 minutes early for something? Yes.
She is 100% dressing herself from head to toe, including shoes, socks, and headband or barrettes. When she puts jammies on, she gets her slippers on. She gets her coats, hat and mittens on all on her own. Really - I can't complain. However - she clearly gets her fashion sense from her father.
Lately, her morning routine has consisted of her disappearing into her bedroom and returning several minutes later completely dressed. Rarely, if ever, does she match. However - my rule is that as long as she has something on her upper body, lower body, and on her feet - then we are good to go. It doesn't matter to me if it is backwards - we will deal with tags and forwards and backwards another day. All that matters is that she did it herself and that she is dressed.
A few mornings ago, I asked her to go and get dressed so that we could go to the store. I couldn't believe the outfit that she came out in. Definitely could use some help from the people on "What Not To Wear." A corduroy lime green and purple flowered skirt, pink, blue, and purple striped and flowered tights, navy blue crocs, no idea what shirt, pink coat, backwards Boston hat, sunglasses. One "cool mama."

That's awesome! You need to make sure those pictures resurface in about 12 years when she refuses to wear something you buy for her. ;)
We're dealing with the opposite here -- Kate refuses to get dressed. To the point that we had to cancel a trip out of the house last weekend because she would NOT cooperate.
Gotta love the independence, huh?
Lol. That is so cute! Emily's not quite that independent, but she definitely has her moments.
