A Trip to the 1830's

With gorgeous weather upon us, we headed to Old Sturbridge Village today to get another dose of history. OSV is an outdoor museum that is a rural New England town in the 1830's. There are costumed staff, that act like members of an 1830's community and carry ot daily activities. You can visit houses, a general store, a bank, a school house, a meetinghouse, watch children play games in the common, etc. Today we had a special treat as there was a event going on this weekend - "Redcoats and Rebels." Imagine Emma's surprise when she saw the British coming! Emma got to make a tricorn hat and buy candy sticks at the general store (as well as a real tricorn hat). She even got a penny whistle and entertained us as we walked through the village.
