Rainy Day Fun

Rainy weather canceled our plans to go blueberry picking this morning, so after running some errands and treating ourselves to a mommy-daughter lunch (complete with ice cream sundaes for dessert) we had a little fun at home while the rain continued to pour down in buckets outside in the 'Burg.

Emma has always enjoyed playing with her American Girl dolls, clothes, and accessories from Busia and Auntie Kay, but lately she has gotten really interested in them. Lots of clothing changes, setting up picnics and tea parties (with real cookies and juice), giving the dog a pretend bath, etc. Today was an especially great day for a tea party and picnic. I wasn't invited, but daddy was, so I took the pictures.

After the tea party/picnic, Emma created an indoor slide using a cardboard box house that her and daddy had made a few weeks ago. She realized that if she propped one end of the box up on the couch, she could crawl inside and slide on down.

So despite the icky weather, it was a good day after all!
