The Day We Have Been Waiting For!

Finally! After months and months of waiting. After months and months of driving by an empty snow covered golf course with nothing but empty fields of snow covered hills our wait is over. WE SAW WILD TURKEYS! Yesterday was truly an exciting us for us as we drove to K & L house in the morning. We made our usual turn onto O*k H*ll Road and began our daily turkey conversation that consisted of:

Me: "Do you think we will see any turkeys?"
Emma: "Could be."
Me: "What do you think they are doing?"
Emma: "Sleeping."

And as we get closer to the golf course

Me: "Let's look and see!"
Emma: "Me looking!"

And THERE THEY WERE. Off in the distance, standing under a group of trees were at least a dozen wild turkeys. After pulling off into the driveway of the country club and listening to Emma repeatedly ask to be taken out of her seat, we got out of the car to watch the turkeys. Who would have ever guessed that wild turkeys could bring so much joy and excitement to a 2 1/2 year old. She stood there on a large rock, clapping her hands and squealing "Turkeys!" over and over again, pointing and smiling. It was a struggle to get her back into the car.

When we picked Emma up later in the day from K & L she had even better news! More turkeys had wandered up onto K & L lawn after nap time, so Emma was able to see more of them after nap from the upstairs window. Two turkey sightings in one day! Holy turkey leg batman!

Unfortunately I was not prepared with my camera at the time - I mean who knew the turkeys would be out? Hopefully we can get some pictures next week of Emma's turkeys for you all to see.
