This week is school vacation week here, so we signed up to bring Gloria, Emma's class puppet and inspiration for the Peace Quilt, home for the long week. But this time Gloria did not come alone. Since the last time that Gloria visited our house, she has a new friend living with her in the classroom. Apparently she was on a trip up the coast of Maine when she heard barking. She thought it was a dog, but it turned out that it was a seal that had lost its way and couldn't find its family. So Gloria invited the seal back to school with her. The children voted and name the seal "Chocolate." This week we have Gloria and Chocolate visiting with us.
Emma has been on a spelling rampage, using her easel and dry erase markers to write everything she can think of. Last night she asked how to spell no, yes, stop, milk, apple, and a million other things. Today it was camel, lion, tiger, and giraffe. Then she asked how to spell Gloria and Chocolate.
