We have had our caterpillars for 1 week now and the good news it that they are still alive! The cats have not gotten to them and Emma has been awesome at observing, but not touching (which is so hard b/c so many things should be learned about by touching and feeling and through hands-on activities). She eagerly checks on them every morning and reports back to us and what they look like ("They are huge!") and what they are doing ("They are sleeping" or "They are eating!"). They really are getting huge. It is amazing to see how big they are getting in just the span of a few short days. We are hoping that they make their up to the top of their container soon to make their chrysalis. We are headed out of town this weekend and I have a feeling that this will happen while we are gone.
Here they were on Day 2 of observation the day after we got them (Saturday, May 16)
Here they are today on Day 7 of observation (Friday, May 22)
