Today our dear friends Jennifer and Pete are heading to the hospital in New York to sit and wait while their 14-month-old daughter undergoes her 2nd open heart surgery. Claire Elizabeth was born last July with Hypoplastic Right Heart (small Right ventricle), Pulmonary Atresia (no pulmonary valve – has grown shut), and her tricuspid valve was narrow and not functioning properly. She had open heart surgery at 3 days old and today will have her 2nd. Miss Claire Elizabeth's official diagnosis:
*Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome (HRHS)
*Pulmonary Atresia with Intact Ventricle Septum (PA / IVS)
*Tricuspid Regurgitation & Stenosis (TR / TS)
She is a trooper and her parents are unbelievable as they care for her and her 2 older brothers (Simon will be 4 and Oliver just turned 2). Say some prayers, send some positive thoughts. Do whatever it is you do.
